Wilson County Schools will host a Registration Night for ESL families on July 21 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Rutland Elementary School. Interpreters will be available to assist. Families may bring their own device or use ones provided by the school.
Welcome Center Summer Hours: The Welcome Center will be open this summer on July 8, 11, 14, & 15 from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Families may make appointments or walk in for assistance with registration for the 2022-2023 school year. The Welcome Center is located in the Adult Education entrance of the Administrative Training Complex at 415 Harding Drive, Lebanon, TN 37087.
Good afternoon, Class of 2022! You are 30 days away from graduation! As we are getting closer, I know you are getting more anxious. Please stay on top of your work and make good choices. Far too often we see students make poor decisions near the end that cost them the opportunity to graduate with their class. We want to see everyone walk across the stage! 5/21/22: GRADUATION! Rehearsal at 9:30 am. Arrive back for Graduation check-in at commons at 5:30 pm and the Graduation ceremony starts at 7:00 pm. We will only limit guests if there is a chance of rain forcing us to move the graduation into the gym and would give out tickets at rehearsal. Fingers crossed for a beautiful evening!

Prom ticket sales are closed. Nominations for Prom King and Prom Queen are now open! Nominate here: https://forms.gle/rKdBhJYRhmsqaEeL6. Nominations will be open until the end of school on Monday. Please note that nominations do not have to be a “couple,” and students must be signed in to their school Google account to complete the nomination form. Voting will take place at the end of next week.
Decision Day: We will celebrate everyone's post-graduation plans for college, career, military, trade school, etc. Make sure to wear a shirt to represent your decision! We have collected pennants from various popular choices. Please check this link for a list of pennants we currently have. If you do not see a pennate for your school, military branch, etc. please drop one off to Mrs. Brewer in the counseling office. She will add it to the list. We will have every senior sign the pennant to go along with their decision. If you are unable to find a pennant for your school or other post-secondary choices (like workforce) OR if you have found a pennant but are unable to purchase it, please see Mrs. Brewer in the counseling office as soon as possible. For counselors to prepare for this event and Senior Awards Day (on May 18), students MUST complete this form before Tuesday, April 26: https://forms.gle/boiLTdBZYGoK44eJ7. Graduation Announcements: We are excited to offer the formal announcements from our graduation partner Herff Jones. This is the official announcement for our school and will include our school seal, graduation date, time, and place, and it’s only offered through this website. New Scholarship Opportunity: Connie Darnell Bradley Memorial Scholarship for $3,000. Applicants must be female, accepted to and planning to attend a four-year college/university, creative or pursuing creative endeavors, leads peers through positive example, and model of a GHHS student. The winner will be announced at the Senior Awards on 5/18/22.

TSSAA/TMSAA Updated their rules to allow for home school athletic application to be taken up the first day of practice for a sport/activity. If they miss their sport's deadline, they can not start team activities until summer.
This year's spring sports have 2/14/22 as the first practice.
This fall's golf has 7/11/22 as the first practice.
Next year's football, volleyball, cross country, and girls soccer has 7/25/22 as the first practice.
Next year's winter sports has 10/31/22 as the first practice.
Next year's spring sports has 2/13/23 as the first practice.
Please check with coaches each season to insure that unapproved home school athletes are not involved in team activties.

COVID Reporting Information:
The Covid-19 surge is in full swing, and we have had many parents corresponding with Nurse Sarah and Mrs. Mattingly about sickness. We want to remind all families to take a picture of positive and negative home test results before discarding them. Make sure you have written your student’s full name and the date of the test and included it in the photo. Mrs. Mattingly will also need to know when symptoms started for each case. This includes doctor’s notes that indicate positive/negative and tests received from a doctor’s office. If you have any questions you may reach the nurse 615-773-9610 ext 2704 or Mrs. Mattingly at ext 2754.

The Wilson County Schools ESL Welcome Center is now open and ready to serve families with other background languages. It is located in the Adult Learning Center at the Administrative Training Center, 415 Harding Drive, Lebanon, TN 37087.
Arabic and Spanish translators are available to assist families with school registrations, acquiring school documents, and orientation to schools.
The Welcome Center offers ESL classes for 17 - 18 year olds and Adult English classes. Hours of operation include Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and Thursdays 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. If you need assistance at another time, please call to make an appointment.

What's Up Wilson!
The Wilson County Board of Education will meet in a Special Called Meeting on June 23, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wilson County BOE Administrative & Training Complex, 415 Harding Drive, Lebanon, TN 37087. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss and possibly vote on Land RFP, Waste Disposal Contract and Budget Amendments.
