School Announcements

Junior ACT Day
Juniors will take the ACT exam in-person and free of charge at the WCS ATC (415 Harding Drive in Lebanon) on March 19. Students must arrive by 8:15 a.m. Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m and conclude by 12:30 p.m.
The ACT is a graduation requirement. Students who do not attend will be marked absent. Students should bring a photo ID and approved calculator. Additional information has been emailed to parents and guardians.

Te21 Benchmark Testing for Year-Long Algebra Students
Students currently enrolled in Algebra 1 Part 2 and Algebra 2 Part 2 will report to the WCS Administrative and Training Complex on Wednesday, March 6 for in-person Te21 District Benchmark Testing.
Additional information has been emailed to parents and guardians.

BTVLA Graduation Ceremony May 14
Graduation ceremony for the BTVLA Class of 2024 will be held on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:00pm at the Farm Bureau Expo Center (9454 East Baddour Pkwy Lebanon, TN). No tickets are required.

Wilson County Schools is pleased to offer Online Enrollment for parents/guardians to enroll K-12 students new to our district (this is not for current students transferring to another Wilson County School).

Student Event Day!
Sweetheart Social on February 16th!
Students are invited to join us on Friday, February 16, for our Sweetheart Social and Awards Ceremony hosted at the WCS Administrative and Training Complex from 9:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. No classes will be held on this day.
We will have music, games, activities, and pizza lunch for all students.

Tennessee Department of Education Monitoring Report
The Tennessee Department of Education requires all virtual schools to be monitored each year. The Barry Tatum Virtual Learning Academy has been found to meet all expectations set forth by the Tennessee Department of Education.

School Absence Information
Students returning from a school absence must have a written note/email/doctor note submitted to the school’s Attendance Secretary or Skyward within three days. Parents may submit up to five parent notes per semester.

BTVLA Earns Level 5 Award for the 2021-2022 School Year!
Congratulations to our Barry Tatum Virtual Learning Academy students, teachers, and parents for earning the designation of a Level 5 school for the 2021-2022 school year! This is the highest growth score a school can earn from the state of Tennessee based on a scale of 1-5!
According to the state of Tennessee, achieving level 5 growth indicates there is significant evidence that students exceeded expectations. This is a tremendous achievement for our students, parents, and members of the community!
